8 Must Read Books For An Optimistic & Expansive Life

Do you like this story?

Library-BooksPost written by Peter G. James Sinclair.

The world is clearly divided between those who choose to see the best, and those who see the worst.

Napoleon Hill once wrote, ‘Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.’ He was definitely an optimist.

An Optimist Or A Pessimist

An optimist calls a half-filled glass half full. A pessimist will declare it as half empty. An optimist sees a pile of bricks and envisages a castle, whereas a pessimist will only think of the hard work ahead. The mouth of an optimist is positive and uplifting. The tongue of a pessimist is negative and critical.

So where do you lie? On what side of the fence do you inhabit?

The optimist asks, ‘How can we improve this?’ The pessimist complains, ‘Why does bad stuff happen all the time?’ The pessimist sees problems. The optimist seeks out solutions.

Our world, in this day and age, needs a world full of optimists.

Positive Leads To A Positive Expansive Life

So line up your positive speech with a positive mindset that will create a positive result for you, your family, and for those whom you come in contact with on a daily basis. Today is the day of the uplift in preference to the pull down.

And I don’t know about you – but I’d rather spread a bit of sunshine any day in preference to carrying around dark clouds, thunder storms, and always being the one to dump a wet blanket on other people’s parades.

For an expansive life begins first in your mind. In order to live big, you first think big.

Every action in your life will be in direct response to the thoughts that are meditated upon in your mind on a daily basis. That is why it is vital that you spend a portion of each day feeding that voracious part of your being – namely your mind – with nutritious mind food.

So what food should you feed your mind? Well, all of us have different mind metabolisms, but I will share with you what I do, and maybe something of what I share with you may guide you to find the food that will lead you to living an expansive life.

My Recommended ‘Must Read’ Book List

I love books. I suppose that’s why I write them So here are a few books that I’ve read of late that may be of benefit to you.

  1. Top of my list is the Bible. I particularly enjoy the book of Psalms and Proverbs – but tend to read much more than that. I particularly love reading The Message Version of the Bible on my iPad.
  2. Anything written by the marketing guru Seth Godin.
  3. The Magic Of Thinking Big by David Schwartz
  4. Anything written by Ralph Waldo Emerson – the philosopher of modern philosophers.
  5. Anything written by Sir Francis Bacon.
  6. Anything that John Maxwell writes on Leadership. Check out his Leadership Bible. It’s a classic.
  7. I like to read good autobiographies.
  8. I make a point of reading what these authors read. That way I keep myself in like-minded and quality company.

So there are a few ideas that may inspire you. But whatever you do, read or listen to those who will inspire you to think bigger and far beyond your present state of mind.

That way you will be forever living an optimistic and expansive life.
