Post written by Peter G. James Sinclair & LinkedIn Friends.

I love it when minds mesh together in a common cause. That’s what has happened over the past year since I invited members of Motivation Nation, found within LinkedIn, to give me a motivational quote that changed their life.

Nearly a thousand people have responded with magnificent quotes that continue to impact me every time that I read them. I trust that they do the same for  you.

But first here is a poem to get us started…

Peter G. J. Sinclair – Motivator •

From That Heart

There is a beat
That beats
Within the very depths
Of what completes
Emotion’s waves
Where feelings flow
And love does crave
A mind that knows

For from it pours
Thunder – lightning
And in the course
Of one’s life string
All tangled, tied
But still unbroken
In that state
Much left unspoken

Yet the sounds
Thump on, thump loud
Declaring pounds
Lived by the proud
Passion placed
Broken bleeding
Compassion’s taste
Destined heeding

For from crushed petals
Downtrodden, destroyed
Rise up the metals
Of army’s deployed
And from that heart
Bright shining sun
Men’s hearts are changed
To beat as one.

Nick C. Cicchino, MABC • @Peter: I see you share the same love of rhythm……and reason as I do. Your jump from the second stanza into third, was a heartfelt self-reflection of emotions I also share with you as well as experienced. Very nice.

I’m inspired to look for one of my poems to share with you and others.

If You Want A Thing Bad Enough

If you want a thing bad enough to go out and fight for it, to work day and night for it, to give up your time, your peace, and your sleep for it . . . if all that you dream and scheme is about it, and life seems useless and worthless without it . . . if you gladly sweat for it and fret for it and plan for it and lose all your terror of the opposition for it . . . if you simply go after that thing that you want with all of your capacity, strength and sagacity, faith, hope and confidence and stern pertinacity . . . if neither cold, poverty, famine, nor gout, sickness nor pain, of body and brain, can keep you away from the thing that you want . . . if dogged and grim you beseech and beset it, with the help of God, you WILL get it!” — Les Brown

Janice Coleman • I’ve only just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it.
Forced upon me, can’t refuse it,
Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it,

I must suffer if I lose it,
Give an account if I abuse it,
Just a tiny little minute,
But eternity is in it.

Doug & Lenore Bailey • Hi everyone,
This is a great post & even greater replies. I feel so fired up & honored to be here, thank you!

”You are what you make yourself!”
and
”We will prosper wherever we go.”

We have faced enormous adversity in life including losing our country, family, money, possessions etc. to terror, & put it back together again in a strong, powerful happy positive way in this beautiful country. Sure, we’ve been through fire and it’s left some scars, but we work on it every day of our lives. No one invited us here and we are succeeding beyond our dreams.

We recently printed the following for a customer on one our Motivational Posters:
You Are Right!
If you think you can…You’re Right!
If you think you can’t…You’re Right!

Liliana, please read the motivational page of my nature web site to see how some Florida companies are achieving greatness. There are books to read and personal suggestions that I’ve used for decades, guaranteed to make for a happier more positive life. Be the most positive person you know, walk away from negative talk at the cooler, they’ll soon get the message. Turn the TV off, or watch nature – the relaxing beautiful soothing kind!

I worked in a terribly negative environment in Jacksonville, FL in the mid 90s. So much whining, unhappiness, and lack of business success. I asked others what would happen if they took all the people from our major competitor’s beautiful building and switched them out into our dirty unkempt facility. They looked at me blankly, just said how lucky the other guys were to have such a nice workplace. I couldn’t get over to them that we were living in HEAVEN and it was up to US to make it happen!

I told them that it’s only about people and positive attitudes. If the staff from both companies were switched, the folks that moved into our building would make it the leading brand. Bricks & mortar do not a business make. I couldn’t believe that they couldn’t see it. So I tuned them out, continued to be the best that I could be & was the personal best of 4 branches. That company is out of business now, I left long before that happened.

MAPA = Maintain a Positive Attitude. It’s burned deep into my mind.

With kindness & praying for a Re-United States of America.
Doug.

Rita Rocker • Rock on Doug! What a blessing you and Lenore are!! There should be nothing more powerful than a walking, living example, which you are! Congratulations on turning your scars into a beautiful mosaic. Keep up the fantastic work you are doing!

Neville Stokes • That’s cool Doug & Lenore – brings to mind a very short but powerful BE, DO, HAVE.

Doug & Lenore Bailey • Hi Rita & Neville,
Thanks so much for your kind and encouraging words.

We watch nature every day of our lives and it’s truly amazing how this can relax and inspire. Birds for example are so full of intelligence and love it’s amazing & should be an example to all of us. You just need to put the time into understanding each persona.

One of our greatest desires is to help others & share our emotional success. There’s so much hurting going on right now and we can all do with a little (sometimes a lot) of help.
Kind regards,
Doug.

Molly Ketcham • Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.

ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.

Peter G. J. Sinclair – Motivator • ‘He who every morning plans the transactions of the day and follows out that plan, carries a thread that will guide him through the labyrinth of the most busy day. The orderly arrangement of his time is like a ray of light which darts itself through all his occupations. But where no plan is laid, where the disposal of time is surrendered merrily to the chance of incidents, all things lie huddled together in one chaos, which admits of neither distribution nor a review.’ Victor Hugo

Judy Dick • I love what I do and I do what I love.

Neville Stokes • Things work out in the end – if things aren’t working out, then it’s not the end.
