If you’re anything like me, there are times when you just cannot get motivated. No matter how you try, the tricks you used to employ are just not working anymore. What steps can you take to bring some motivation back into your life?

Here are just 4 suggestions…

1. Set Smaller Goals

Sometimes we get frustrated and lose motivation because the goals we set for ourselves are too big. For example, let’s take a woman who wants to lose 75 pounds over the course of the next few months. This goal is extremely challenging, and she might find herself unable to keep up with it. Setting smaller goals, such as five to seven pounds per month, would be much more realistic. Then, when she hits the goals, she will be inspired to move forward.

2. Work With Friends

Getting motivated alone can also be difficult. If you want to go to the gym on a more regular basis, you might not have the drive to actually get there because you become bored upon arrival. Furthermore, you may feel funny working out by yourself and are constantly wishing you had someone with whom to speak. Therefore, tackling a goal with friends can help to bring higher levels of motivation into your life. Not only will you be working towards a particular goal, but also you will enjoy doing it with your friends.

3. Religion/Spirituality

Another problem occurs when you feel as though you are alone in the world. Some people think that they have no reason to complete goals because no one is cheering them on and no one cares about what they do. Getting in touch with your religious and spiritual side is one of the ways to combat these feelings. Whether you decide to start going to church on a regular basis or talking with God at home, you can feel very uplifted from these sessions. You might feel determined to complete a goal that you never before thought was possible to do. Truly, religion and spirituality can be major motivators.

4. Be Inspired

Do you ever feel really inspired after you watch a movie or read a book where someone accomplishes a fantastic goal? Well then you should look into doing this a little bit more often then! When you wake up in the morning you might want to play a song that helps to get you ready for the day. In the evenings, before pursuing a big goal you wish to complete, watch some movies that will really help to inspire you. Use media in a productive way to motivate and inspire. Watching the successes of others can help you to complete your own journeys and challenges.

As you can see, motivating yourself is not quite as complicated as you once thought it was. Take these tips and tools and go on to become the most motivated person possible. Be sure to work consistently towards all of your goals and take as much inspiration as you can.
