I’m pondering this afternoon about where all my schoolmates are now. What have they achieved? What influence have they had? What level of success have they accrued? What significance are they effecting? What impact are they having?
For what is the measure of man or a woman’s life?
Some have said that you can measure a man’s life by those who have measured their lives against them. I truly believe that one can measure their life by whether he or she has done what God has called them to do. But only a man or a woman and their God can come up with that answer.
Men are so quick to judge, so quick to condemn, so quick to advise. But dare I say this? Unless you have walked in the shoes of another, you and I have no right to do any of what I have just listed.

Two of my children and I kayaked from the mainland, across the Pumicestone Passage, to Bribie Island yesterday.
We got wet, used muscles in our arms and legs that we hadn’t used in a while. We paddled against the wind and the current, and even chased a stingray who suddenly disappeared, as if by magic, in the sandy bottom.
We disembarked, once we reached the island, and then walked barefoot to the other side where we splashed in the ocean waves as they crashed onto the shore. We marveled at a sea eagle as it floated effortlessly through the air. We picked up a stray piece of driftwood and drew in the sand and we sunk in the soft sand up to our knees.
On returning to our kayaks we then paddled towards a flock of seagulls and a group of pelicans. Hopping out of our vessels we ran straight towards them with waving hands and raised voices before being enthralled by the sea of white that was now soaring above our heads.

Unraveling why certain events occur in the daily life and death struggles and battles that make up our every day existence here on planet earth is always going to be a difficult task. For whenever we unveil a regular pattern there will always appear a contradiction.
For even in religion – for every religious thought there always seems to be an opposing religious thought. For every black there is a white. For every smooth there is a rough.
But it is at that point that we join our multitudinous voices to that of Pilate – the executioner of the ‘King Of The Jews’ asking - ‘What is truth?’ Now in answer to that question, if I was to sit in a room of people from a range of faiths – each would have their own interpretation as to what truth means to them. But in this discussion I cannot speak for each of those faiths. I can only speak from the faith that I have in the One to whom the questions were first posed, before He was led off to be crucified, buried and resurrected.
