Living Under The Influence

The circle of friends surrounding your life is of prime importance when it comes to creating a sphere of influence that will spread far beyond that circle.  For like ripples formed by a stone in a pond you will at times be astounded how far that influence will travel out from that tiny circle until it encompasses that larger circle known as the earth’s globe.

For as surely as one with a band of twelve has influenced the billions, never underestimate the power of the small and the power of influence that can reach even the nations.

But in order for you to be an influencer you must first sit under the influence of one who is greater, who has a mind that is broader, morality that is deeper, faith that is stronger and who lives a life that is richer.

‘Insist On Yourself: Never Imitate.’

Emerson wrote these words way back in the 1800’s, and yet they still ring true today.

So what do we do with them?

Love them.

Words Of Life

Words at times refuse to be announced. They float in mid air awaiting capture whilst still in flight. They lie beneath the surface of the bubbling brook swimming patiently until they are fished out. They parade in the field anticipating the thrust of the rope around their neck as they are pulled in.

They appear in the mist, in the sunshine, in the haze, in the snow storm, in the smoke, in the smog and at any time they will land on the page before your very eyes. Without warning they will strike.  Without introduction they will present.

But it is only those whom are aware of the habits of words who will translate the garble into a format that will influence their minds and the minds of others. For there is an ordering that must occur. There is a discipline that must be enforced if any sense is to be made out of the silent commotion that fills our world.
