Defined By What You Do

I recently saw the movie ‘Batman Begins’. Twice throughout the movie the following words were heard: ‘You are defined by what you do’.

It’s not what you say that defines you. Because many say and never do.

It’s not what you propose that defines you. For many make plans and never carry them out. Many talk about giving but never give. Many talk about supporting but never support.

It’s what you DO that defines you.

Actions speak louder than words.

Faith without works is dead.

To sum it up…people will watch what you do rather than listen to what you say.

Why? Because it defines you.

It is the real you.

So be a doer.

Be defined!

  • Peter,

I can definitely relate to this post. For years I kept seeing myself as a writer. Heck, I’ve written so many things in my mind that I think I have published an entire encyclopedia.

Problem was, I hadn’t actually put words to paper nearly that often. I said I was a writer but just didn’t do it.

Over the past year or so, that’s begun to change. I am now writing more and with that, doing more than before. Success is underway and is only a matter of time.

    Thanks for the post.
